[Idea] computer review website

I am currently looking into buying a computer but am stumped as I wan' t to get one that works well out of the box with Ubuntu. I have had an idea for a review website where people can review the new computers on the market. When looking for a computer people who are interested in Ubuntu can then use this website as a guide. I would be willing to design the website based on feedback from this thread. Do you think that this idea would take off?

The idea about a computer review website is really good. Although I see some difficulties about the content of such a site. Would the site cover reviews of whole systems? Hardware parts? A hardware products list ranking hardware from compatibility with Ubuntu / GNU/Linux in general? Who are willing to test all the hardware needing tests? Who will keep the site updated? and so on? I see quite a bit of work effort being put into such a site, and wouldn't the site, at the end of the day cross paths with Ubuntu forums?

The reviews would be based solely on the hardware and its compatibility with Linux. I have just been looking at Hotscripts for some rating scripts and cannot find any useful ones. I must admit to not being too sure what works best. I am looking at getting a laptop soon and the one I like is an AMD laptop (http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=399825) Will it run Ubuntu alright?

http://www.phoronix.com/ for computer components, i don't think they do full builds but just find out what's in the machine and look it up there
