My brother and I found a huge swan in a parking lot at a Papa Ginos.
pics are hosted by the excellent bayimg.com :) the swan was absolutely massive, I didnt want to get so close, because I have been bitten by a swan once and it hurt, my brother was a bit more daring and fed him some bread.

This is a Mute Swan. They are native to Europe but introduced in parts of eastern North America. North America's two native swan species are larger and have black bills, lacking the knob of the Mute Swan.

Duck.

I'd never seen a back swan. Pretty cool. I'd love to see one of those in real life.

There's usually a few in the parklands downtown, or in the botannical gardens here...Drivin' up to Woomera, the problem is usually EMUS on the road...Bloody HUGE, and they like to herd sheep for some odd reason...*g*

Lovely pics of the swans. Maybe the one in the parking lot was there because people were feeding him.

the sheep are probably terrified. One bite from a swan is enough to make me shy away.

Some of you should come to SC and visit Swan Lake. There are really huge swans there.

Duck.

Whoops, you're right.

We have black swans at the zoo where I work. They like to attack the lawn mower's wheels when you mow near the water's edge.
