Is it wrong to have a site as domain.org when advertising is sold? An example is www.tuxmachines.org. Do you think that the .org or .com really matter, as long as the website isn't for a registered company?

The original intent for .org was for "organizations" that don't fit with other categories.

The usage of it for charity and non-profit organizations is something tha happened, but it is not necesarily to be non.profit.

Also, the OS movement uses it plenty of times even though there might be ads on the site.

Nobody really cares, lol.
