Does anybody know if there is a firefox extension that will remove all target="_blank" and target="_new" from links? I'm sick and tired of websites that try to control how I open links.

You mean links opening new windows? Or resizing browser?

For Links I always middle-click links which forces them to open in a new tab.
goto java advanced will allow you to uncheck allow sites to resize browser or disable right click menu,etc...

I do the middle click thing too. The problem arises when I want to open a link in the current tab. If it has a target set, it will open in a new window. The only option is to open in a new link and then close the page from which it was opened.

Hmm links I click on in a page always open in new tab when I middle-click. You do have in preferences>tabs that New Pages should be opened in a new tab checked?

Post a example page and I'll try it out myself and see if it does it to me.

I think it is possible to do it with Tab Mix Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122).
