Open Source in UK schools

The UK government's school computing agency, Becta, has said schools could save costs by switching to what is known as open source software.

Interesting article on the bbc website about a school in Manchester, England where they have implemented OSS through out and within 3 years are looking to have it replace windows through out the school.

This is very good news, although I must admit that I'm very surprised. It's not something that I expected. Despite (apparent) increased funding in education, many schools in Britain are unable to afford the fees that Microsoft charges, and now seeing that one has taken the plunge, I've no doubt more will follow suit in the future.

Now I just wonder which distro they'll use...?
