View Full Version : Who is RAV TUX?

floke

So, the legend is that John Titor,is a time traveller seeking a Unix machine to take back to the future (see here if you've never heard of Titor - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor). My feeling is that he stayed here and moved into testing an infinite number of Linux distros. His new name...RAV TUX! Is it possible that Rav and John are the same person? I think we need to be told.

Just who is Rav Tux?

PatrickMay16
June 16th, 2007, 09:12 PM
Rav tux is JOHN TIT0R, THE TIME TRAVELLOR. He came back from 2035 to collect linux distributions to combat the 2038 glitch.

Well, from having read a great deal of his posts, both here and on his forum, and having had a few conversations with him, this is my impression: Jozef is a Jewish geek who lives in the DC area with his wife and a menagerie of rabbits, fish, and various other critters. :D

Now I AM worried!

steveneddy

I am also a time traveler and met John more than a few occasions. There are many of us here in your present, or OUR past. Due to war and nuclear fallout in the near future, there is nowhere to go but to the past. We pick the healthy ones to send back but sometimes a few radiated persons slip through in rogue time travel devices. This is why you see cancer so prevalent today, it is actually the sick ones trying to die in peace, in a cleaner world than they came from.

John was a healthy specimen at the time, but somehow lost his mind and while on his way to the special needs housing for mentally ill patients, he escaped and came back to the year 2000 (aprox) and "set up shop".

John is harmless, but I have been sent back to exterminate him so he doesn't change the future too much.

RAV TUX is only his illegitimate son from another, future, time travel incident, where he travels even farther back to the past to spread chaos.

:popcorn:

RAV may indeed be ignorant of his true past. this is how it was told to me by John.

floke
June 16th, 2007, 11:19 PM
Well at least that explains why my monitor isn't detected by OZ! Chaos indeed.
But does RAV TUX know his origins?
And does this affect the time-space continuum?

Douglas Adams was only off technically by 6 digits...

If you want to be more precise 18 + 6 digits but you could say just 6.

18x2=36

18=life
36=doublelife
42=the meaning to life according to Douglas Adams

I use 18 & 36 as YubNub (http://yubnub.org/) command line prompts but only because 42 was taken.
