Big backing for an open-source project. Ardour might be genuinely competitive with Logic, Sonar, Cubase & even Pro-Tools someday.

The big deal is that it might lead to a definitive Linux audio solution.

This will not hurt open source music programs. Most major OSS projects have backing like this. This will only cause it to get much, much better. Especially since the people backing it are pros who want to use it. They will make sure things get done right.

I'm pretty stoked about this one.
