Now this really made my day.

Everyone in my lab looks at me with funny faces when I mention I'm using linux. Well today, I was the one laughing.

We bought a new computer for the lab and it was setup by my University's IT personnel this week. It work very well for 2 days but then it started to get picky. Stuff like not printing pdf and confusing Internet explorer with the reboot command. Now most of us have laptop so we didn't make a big fuss about it, we called IT and they are gonna come next week.

But the computer is also our print and file server and that is where it hurts. People started complaining that they couldn't print or couldn't access important files. So some of us basically stop working.

And then the "weird" Linux guy comes in and just for the fun of it send a paper to print. I can't describe the face of my lab mates when the printer started spitting the pages like usual.

"How did you fix it?" they ask.
"How come you can print?" they said

Well I never had any problem, I'm using Linux.

In the end, even with MS lock-in, Ubuntu is still more compatible with Windows XP than ... Windows XP.
