I thought this was odd but neat:

Ubuntu is considered to be some the best office software of 2005.

With a bit of tinkering, you end up with the slickest Linux around.

Hmmm....reminds me of this thread:

Ubuntu was 26 overall:

I've tinkered a bit and have the slickest Linux distro I've ever used :D

I also noted that at 26 it was the No1 Linux distro in the list

Ahhh, this line from the review gets me every time I read it:

Robertson's point is well taken: To my knowledge, his is the only Linux distribution that speaks all those tongues right out of the box. But with an hour's work with Apt on an Ubuntu system, you can match Linspire's wide-ranging file type support--and you won't be stuck on a costly upgrade treadmill, either.

How true! \\:D/

It's the only one I've ever tried that I could get to work.

That's saying a lot.

It's far from perfect, and there are a lot of mysterious problems with some of the supplied programs (Evolution Mail has been spectacularly buggy with some plugins, for example) but it's pretty good.

I think what impresses me most about Ubuntu is that my wife will use it.
