Ctrl+K ( go to search box)

all+tab (switiching )
btw, is there any short cut for minizing a window or a short cut for maximizing a window?

Ctrl + T Make new tab in firefox... don't even ask how many I go through in a day. I couldn't live without it.

Uh, single click on the task bar (lower panel, click on the window you want minimized)... thats the easiest way. It wouldn't be practical to have a key binding, how would the computer know which window you wanted opened if you had 10 active ones?

and Ctrl+Clck (open the link in a new tab)
You can use the Middle Click to do that too.
Also I like the:
Ctrl + Shift + T to create a new tab in gnome-terminal
Ctrl + Shift + W to close a new tab in gnome-terminal
(I'm using these less and less, since I spent some time learning Screen)
These are the only ones I'm remembering right now...

I didn't know it was used for pasting until I started using the Linux terminal. Now I use it to paste everywhere else.
