View Full Version : Nokia PC Suite for Linux?

Hi guys. I've been trying to determine if Linux can do what I'm able to do with Windows, and one of the stumbling blocks has been the Nokia PC Suite (http://www.nokia.com/A4144905). As far as I can tell, there are no Linux versions and Nokia has no interest it making one yet.

Are there any other ways to connect my phone (Nokia 6060) to Linux so I can upload/download files to and from the phone? This is all I really want, and the suite works fine in Windows. Just hoped there was something similar in Linux. Thanks!

Oi, losers, don't just ignore my question, I need help here!

Surely someone's made a small driver or something. If it's just a way of mounting the phone I'd be interested, otherwise this lack of responses me understand why Nokia never bothered.

When I bought my cheap-end Nokia I mailed them a question regarding PC Suite and Linux, but they said no so I left it at that. I use bluetooth to send files up, down, to and 'fro (Syd anyone?) the phone.

Import/export of contact list, messages and calendar etc would be nice. I don't know really but I found you some links:

I tried with nokia 5300, and plugged it in ubuntu..

and

it was recognized as a mass storage device!!

What more could you want?

Ok, that's probably enough links to get started. Thanks!

I have a Nokia 6280 so not quite the same but.....

When I connect it via USB, the phone flashes up "Select Data Mode". Select file transfer and as said elsewhere in this thread it is immediately recognised as a USB drive!

Excellent

That won't happen in Doze. Once there you can drag and drop to your heart's content.

You have enough other links to be going on with but it really is that simple.
