Hi
This was kinda off-topic in all the other sub-forums.
As i was messing around with some html i wanted to check compatibility with older browsers.
So here is 3 questions:
1. Is there a program that lets me do this?
2. How can i have multiple versions of, say, firefox in Ubuntu?
3. How can i have platform specific browsers in Ubuntu - like IE (i know, wine), Safari etc.
Hope you can answer - especially #1 - Thanks
Carsten

There is a website that will do this for you; it will test on just about everything going. I will see if I can find the link.

For testing internet explorer I defenetly recommend installing ies4linux. http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page

That is a good tool, but testing IE in Linux is not the same as testing IE in Windows.

Yes. I've used it, it works very well. Give it a try.

I only test for: Firefox 2, Safari, IE 6, IE 7, and Opera. No reason to pay attention to 1.5 (as it automatically upgrades) or old browsers, like Netscape 4 or IE 5.5.

Web Pages should also be tested for Screen Readers, and text-only browsers.

Eh. Proper semantic, standards-compliant markup takes care of those two. Use semantic markup, provide alts whenever possible, and you should be clear for screen readers. if you website breaks down gracefully on a mobile, then you know it will look good on browsers that can't use stylesheets, such as a text browser.

Eh. Proper semantic, standards-compliant markup takes care of those two.
Still, look at it in Lynx to see if it navigatable, when reading top to bottom, left to right.
