In terms of CO2 emission, BMW is bad news. But apart from this it's good news of course.

That is quite good news. Nobody likes being locked-in by a supplier.

Hate Beemers, too damn bland and too damn heavy (lately). As for the actual topic, excellent news for Linux. Then again Linux isn't really hurting on the server market anyways.

BMW makes a hydrogen capable car the 760H, check your facts before piping up. (So tired of people singling cars out)

Sidetracking... But it's a fact. BMW are far behind other (non-German) carmakers. For one I own one, so I know. Second there was an article in The Economist a few weeks ago outlining exactly that. Third, check out this ranking:

http://www.autospies.com/news/Ranking-of-Cleanest-Car-Brands-14659/

Porsche scores worst in terms of average CO2 emissions. Guess I know what I am talking about - but again, this is off-topic and I don't want to spoil this thread.

EDIT:
Interesting article for you while we are talking about it. It's a good read:

Will read all the articles, thanks. I dislike beams by default anyways :)

topic wise it good news nice to see another major company noticing linux. but off topic ilike bmw's and give me a heavy car thats fast over any tiny lightwight car made of tin foil any day of the week. but in honesty is a mater of personal of prefrence.
