Okay everyone, I just emailed my ISP with a question about v92 capabilities and the like. Here's the email and the reply. Now why does Centurytel not support v92? This is the only phone company out where we live, as it is the only one that services this area. (There's no variety, and they gouge prices and other things.) Is there some specific reason they can not?

Robert,
The last I spoke with a Centurytel rep about it they were unable
to support the v.92 featureset (internet on hold, etc). As for connection
speed and reliability it is my understanding that there is no difference
between the two.

I have never setup a dialup with a linux distro but feel free to
give me a call if you run into any problems, I am sure I can go online and
contact someone there who can help us.

Thanks
(name and company witheld)
