Edit: This thread was born out of this thread ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=462561 ) where we were complaining about all the crap hollywood pumps out these days. Stuff like Spiderman etc probably does not belong here, we are leaning more towards the non-mainstream intellectual or even what some might consider artsy here.

The idea of this thread is to recommend good movies from any time and any place in the world.

Make a suggestion and we can debate it's merits to go onto the list. Please provide a imdb & wikipedia link to the movie you recommend.

I will then add it to this very first post.

List:
1.
2.
3.

Terminator 2 : Judgement Day

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103064/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator_2:_Judgment_Day

I like this movie, not just because of the cool effects, but also because they show the Terminator actually learning stuff, and in the end, he understands emotions : "I know now why you cry". Also, the T-800 is damn awesome. Frankly, I like all the series, but T2 was the best. I also recommend LOTR, and the Matrix, but I am not sure how many I can recommend at once.

28 days later | imdb (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/) | wiki (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/28_days_later)
Imho a great movie that is entertaining but at the same time explores what is hiding beneath the layer of civilization that guides us every day. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the film.

Children of Men | imdb (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/) | wiki (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_men)
This film felt like a tribute to the magic of birth at times. I don't quite agree with the #123 list on wikipedia's top250 list, but its definately a must-see movie.

Are there any limits to how many we can post? I have a few more:)

Ok, Crash was seriously mediocre, which made it even more of a travesty when it won best picture due to Hollywood's nod to the homophobes of the world that didn't like Brokeback Mountain (which was a damn fine movie).

i hate to be a critic, but some of these suggestions are kinda weak. c'mon guys! :p
anyways, i'll offer up two suggestions of my own...

a classic: midnight cowboy (imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064665/); wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_cowboy))
dustin hoffman and john voight are both fantastic in this movie. i would hate to be down and out like them, especially in the new york city of the 1970s.

more recent, but important nevertheless: american beauty (imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0169547/); wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Beauty_%28film%29))
kevin spacey's character is interesting, and as always spacey's performance is quite good.

Jarhead | imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418763/)
Nice movie about realities for soldiers.

Big Fish | imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0319061/)
Great, great movie about something as simple as a man telling his stories. One of my favorites.

Trainspotting | imdb (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117951/)
"Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a ******* big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of ******* fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the **** you are on Sunday night. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing ******* junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, ******* your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, ****** up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. and i also noticed you had beauty and the beast... honestly i like almost all of the old classic disney movies, i watched them a lot when i was a kid, which is most likely why i <3 animated and CGI movies today :D

I have a huge list of these. However, I will only do three.

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels (IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120735/) | Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lock_Stock_and_Two_Smoking_Barrels))
This movie is the reason Guy Ritchie is even on the map. Four guys go in on a sure shot round of high stakes poker. What they don't realize is 'Hatchet' Harry is a cheat and removes them from their earnings, and then some. As with any Russian mafia, the four stiffs have a week to come up with the lost bankroll. Brilliant plot and building points throughout. Each of the actors are perfectly fit for their roles in this film.

Empire of the Sun (IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092965/) | Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_of_the_Sun_%28film%29))
This is my favorite Spielberg movie. To me, this movie was brilliant in comparison to E.T. It has all my favorite elements in it... and the story gives a very realistic detail of a British youth just after the Doolittle strike on Japan. Very powerful acting by your favorite Batman (Christian Bale) when he was a kid. Make sure you have a good theater room to enjoy this one... P-51 Mustang... Cadillac of the sky!

Vanilla Sky (IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259711/) | Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_sky))
Yes I know, it's got Tom "I'm a space man" Cruise in it... but it's by far his best acting he's ever done. The story of a playboy who has it all only to fall to the reality of who he really is... or is he? There's one major plot in this movie, but it pans open to five other hidden plots. If you enjoy shows like Lost, check this one out. Cameron Diaz plays a fantastic insane ex-girlfriend in this one. For those who have seen it and hated it, should watch it again and pick apart the intellectual value of it. I did good by finding three major plots prior to the movies end... I had to have some "tech support" to figure out the other two though. You can sum it all up in one line: "How can you taste the sweet, if you haven't had the sour?"

Other movies I would recommend are Donnie Darko, The Usual Suspects, Trainspotting, A Clockwork Orange, Boondock Saints, A Scanner Darkly, and of course El Mariachi.

Five from me;

La Haine IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113247/) | Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Haine)

An absolute masterpiece of French cinema. I can watch this time and time again.

Renaissance IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386741/) | Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renaissance_%28film%29)

Another French film, as animation its up there with Akira.

Brick IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0393109/) | Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brick_%28film%29)

I struggled with this one for a while, but once I found the groove it was in, I loved it. If you like Raymond Chandler, you will like this. It like Philip Marlow, but set in High School. Great stuff.

Dead Man's Shoes IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419677/) | Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man%27s_Shoes)

A very British film, whether or not it would appeal to anyone outside the UK I am not sure.

Rumblefish IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086216/) | Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumble_Fish)

One of my all time favourite films, again in B&W. Wonderfully shot, some great actors and an entertaining story. Mickey Rourke was born to be in this film.

I could go on all day here but I am meant to be working!

Come on people let's have some original choices. I'm waiting for someone to post "Titanic" :( (Which I have never seen).

Now there's a horrible movie. It reminds me of the remade Pearl Harbor; strip a little more than half the movie and you have a decent movie.

Children of Men is an absolutely amazing movie. I especially love the scenes at the start of London falling apart. They are done extremely well and seem like they could actually happen. Also that massive battle scene (In the camp, to quash the rebellion) was AMAZING. Love the organicness (Is that a word?) of the blood being splattered onto the lens.

Anyway. My nomination.

Der Untergang (Downfall) | imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163/) | wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downfall_%28film%29)
This movie is simply amazing. Anyone that hasnt seen it must go and buy it. An extremely convincing depiction of the last days of Hitler in his bunker in Berlin. It tells the story from a completely neutral point of view, in no way glorifying or denouncing any of Hitlers actions. Even if you are not into that sort of movie the direction is just mesmerising.

Good (insert your diety here)!

6 pages, and no one has mentioned:

Godfather
Apocalypse Now
Seven Samurai
Seventh Seal?

Put down the internet, and march yourself to the nearest DVD rental store, and rent those.

That said, I second:

La Haine
Life is Beautiful

Both tremendous films.

In my opinion this is one of the best westerns ever made. The lone "outlaw" gunfighter loses his family in the beginning of the movie and as the plot unwinds, he gains another family of very unlikely characters. This is a movie like Shawshank that I can watch over and over without growing tired of it.

You can sum it all up in one line: "How can you taste the sweet, if you haven't had the sour?"...

Vanilla Sky is an American remake of a movie called Open Your Eyes (Abre los ojos) IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0125659/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abre_los_Ojos)

The remake is almost identical to the original, except the original removes the inherent unbelievability that is Tom Cruise and has a much better (IMHO) ending. Strangely, both films star Penélope Cruz.

I would have included Abre los Ojos but there are factions of Vanilla Sky not found in AlO. Particularly the scene where Tom is driving his car out to the empty time square and you notice the license date on the car of Feb 30th, nor do you find the hidden writing in the xrays revealing a completely different plot. Abre los Ojos is an absolutely fantastic film, however between the two I have to pick Vanilla Sky for the twisted plot lines unbeknownst to even the producers and screen writers of the movie.

I have to agree there. Some of the suggestions so far have not been the best. Maybe people havent watched any good stuff yet ???

Maybe I should have restricted this to foreign movies which is not what I wanted as hollywood has produced some good stuff.

MIPS, it can't be restricted to what 'you' think are good movies. Then it's just the 'Movies MIPS Likes' thread.

By the way, foreign films are any films not produced in the country in which you live. . .so how do we determine what is a foreign film?

Emotionally it felt very similar to Grave Of The Fireflies (IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0095327/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grave_of_the_fireflies)), but this could have just been due to the similarity of time and setting (wartime 1940s) and theme (young people coping with the harshness of human nature). I was pleasantly surprised to see Maribel Verdú of Y tu mamá también (IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0245574/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y_tu_mama_tambien)) fame starring as Mercedes. I didn't even recognize her at first, she looks much older.

As per Hollywood's The Count Of Monte Cristo: do yourself a favor and read the book instead. The film was nowhere near as emotionally involving as the book. I would like to blame that on the nature of the medium, but there is just so much in that movie that could have been omitted in favor of better storytelling.

Saw The Labyrinth Of The Faun (Pan's Labyrinth - El laberinto del fauno) (IMDB (http://imdb.com/title/tt0457430/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_laberinto_del_fauno)) last night, and all of the hype is fully deserved.

Pan's Labyrinth was riveting, very, very dark.

A good movie if you feel like having your soul pulled out of your heart and shot point blank.

Excellent film overall.

Do you recall a movie with Gérard Depardieu where his marriage is in trouble. He works as a construction worker and his wife start an affair with the engineer her husband works for. He grows tomatoes in his garden and his life basically seems very miserable and you really cannot help but feel truely sorry for the character.

I cannot find the name of the movie, any ideas ?

Ok people, you've made your point, we all know the Shawshank Redemption is a good movie, now can we please, for the sake of fighting redundancy, drop it? There are plenty of fantastic movies out there that are not TSR and that actually belong in this thread (where TSR doesn't really fit the criteria outlined in the OP).

and i also noticed you had beauty and the beast... honestly i like almost all of the old classic disney movies, i watched them a lot when i was a kid, which is most likely why i <3 animated and CGI movies today :D

:D Love the "classics" too, mostly just those made when Disney was a man named Walt, but a few scattered films since. Darby O'Gill in particular is often under-rated, written off I suppose as a little kid's "Leprechaun story." But if one realizes the story it's really telling in its old whimsical storyteller-inspired manner, one finds it has some hefty themes among its charm.

Only a room, 7-or-so actors and a spectacular script!

Gone With The Wind is a lovely film, it's just a bit too long-with-the-wind-ed and that makes it difficult for some people to initially appreciate.

Afraid it struck me as being an incredibly long excercize in overboiled soap-opera shrill drama, centered around a horrid central character to whom I would have said "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" to way before Rhett Butler did. Fortunately, it is also a very beautiful film, chock to the brim the whole way with some of the finest costume, set, lighting and cinematography work you'll ever see. It also features some fine, committed performances from an ideal cast and can boast one of the all time best scores. Production conquering script (a trend very much en vogue today idn't it?). I do own a copy and enjoy watching parts of it at a time. There's also a nice soundtrack set out on Rhino/TCM. So... yeah. A very good movie in all.

Gladiator, October sky, Clockwork orange, Truman Show, Shawshank Redemption (A little *to* pupular maybe? ^^), Trainspotting, Memento, Donnie Darko, Leon

And, PLEASE... post imdb links. I think it might be a little bit more efficient, hu? One lookup vs potential dozens.

I just saw Bang Bang You're Dead (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0288439/). It has been quite a while since I've seen such a good movie. Very strong acting, highly thought provoking (especially for those involved in education), great soundtrack that complements the movie, and very well shot and directed. I highly recommend it.

Blade Runner - Director's Cut. It's always been on the top of my list, and so far, nothing has managed to knock it down.

Also, if you want artsy and controversial, try Crash - not the recent Hollywood blockbuster, but the one Cronenberg made (no relations except the name), yeah the one with the car crash fetishists who gets aroused by being in car crashes (well, you get the point). It's a spectacular movie based on an even more spectacular book.

Alien 51!

"I asked God for the time back I lost watching it., 23 April 2006
1/10
Author: gokulevelss from United States

I don't know who to blame for this dead piece of independent film. The acting did not match what was occurring. The camera operators must have been on break the entire time. Half the time the scenes jumped with no apparent reason. The sub-characters IQ's matched their shoe size. The director must not have even been on set the whole time. The story in general wasn't even original. And the flaws with the settings were unbearable. Even the parts were skin was shown couldn't off set the rest of the thing. I wouldn't add this garbage to my collection if they were passing it out for free. I have seen kinder-garden plays with better talent. I watched it out of shear curiosity. It was just an awful film. There is no way possible to enjoy this film. Avoid it at all costs."

Pretty much everything Cronenberg touches tends to come out right. Videodrome also ranks as one of my absolute favorite movies. Naked Lunch was the exception, since I had already read the book several times before watching it, and it's hard to read something that brilliant without feeling a little disappointed in a movie-adaption.

It is a reasonably historically accurate musical comedy about the events leading up to the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. It is based on the Broadway musical of the same name.

John Adams: I have come to the conclusion that one useless man is called a disgrace; that two are called a law firm, and that three or more become a Congress!

Dr. Benjamin Franklin: A rebellion is always legal in the first person, such as "our rebellion." It is only in the third person - "their rebellion" - that it becomes illegal.

John Dickinson: Fortunately, the people maintain a higher regard for their mother country.
Dr. Benjamin Franklin: Higher, certainly, than she feels for them. Never was such a valuable possession so stupidly and recklessly managed, than this entire continent by the British crown. Our industry discouraged, our resources pillaged... first of all our very character stifled. We've spawned a new race here, Mr. Dickinson. Rougher, simpler; more violent, more enterprising; less refined. We're a new nationality. We require a new nation.

I haven't posted in this thread for more than a year and you still haven't begun compiling the list mips? For shame :)

In the Aussie arena, I second the vote for Eagle vs. Shark and would like to add Japanese Story imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304229/) wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Story), Danny Deckchair imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0337960/) wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Deckchair), and He Died With A Felafel In His Hand imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0172543/) wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He_Died_With_A_Felafel_In_His_Hand).

Also:
La science des rêves imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0354899/) wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Science_of_Sleep)
A wonderfully strange and disjointedly shot movie, but I can't do it justice with words, a must-see.

The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368774/) wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heart_Is_Deceitful_Above_All_Things)
Don't say I didn't warn you about this one: if you have any amount of empathy for the human condition, then this movie will tear your guts out. I suggest watching it alone so that nobody sees you break down sobbing.

That's all for now (I'm tired of link-pasting :)).

Butterfly Effect

It (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Butterfly_Effect) seems to be Ashton Kutcher's attempt to escape typecasting. I thought it was good, but judging by the reviews (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/butterfly_effect/), it seems that everyone's mind jumps to Dude, Where's My Car (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dude_where%27s_my_car) the moment they see him.

My recommendation is:
Layer Cake Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layer_Cake_(film))(spoiler alert) IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375912/)
It didn't receive much publicity, but it's a very good film.

And here are some European (and Russian) gems:

Festen (The Celebration) -- IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0154420/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Celebration_(Film))
Very gripping and realistic Danish drama. The acting is fabulous. This is the first Dogme 95 (http://www.dogme95.dk/) movie, and follows its rules (http://www.dogme95.dk/menu/menuset.htm) very strictly.

Ostrov (The Island) -- IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851577/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrov_(film))
A very remarkable Russian movie, with a deeply spiritual theme. Very strong acting, wonderful cinematography. This movie is somewhere at the top of my top ten list.

Lilya-4-Ever -- IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0300140/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilya_4-ever)
Swedish director Lukas Moodysson's best movie so far. A very tragic story, based on a true case, but so beautifully acted and filmed. This movie will stay with you for quite a while.

La stanza del figlio (The Son's Room)-- IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0208990/) Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_stanza_del_figlio)
What happens to you when your son dies? The best movie on grief I know. Real and raw emotions. Great acting, especially of Nanni Moretti, who also directed the movie. I get the impression the movie is not very well known outside Italy (see the nearly non-existing Wikipedia page), which is a real shame.

Donnie Darko imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246578/)
A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident. It's a really dark film with a B-movie feel to it, even though the acting is great and the story is superb. This movie will haunt your mind for weeks...

Memento imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/)
A guy who is trying to find the murderer of his wife. The only problem is he was hit on the head while trying to help his wife, leaving him with brain damage: he can't make new memories and thus forgets everything after about 10 minutes. The whole movie is filmed backwards, so you must pay attention!

The Big Lebowski imdb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118715/)
A movie about a post-hippy dude who does absolutely nothing, except bowling with his friends. He is mistaken for a milionaire, and others are trying to get his money (which he doesn't have). This movie was really hilarious to me. You love it, or you hate it. It's as simple as that.

I've been on a Shane Meadows trip recently so can heartily recommend;

Dead Man's Shoes imdb (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419677/) | wp (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man%27s_Shoes_(2004_film))

One man's revenge against a small town gang that tormented his mentally challenged brother.
Fair warning, if your only experience of English gangs are Guy Ritchie films then your in for a shock.
Meadows writes and directs what he knows about, and most of his films are set around Nottingham. And I hate to say it but his depiction the gang in this film is one of the most realistic I've seen from my experience growing up in a small town.

This Is England. imdb (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0480025/) | wp (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_England)

Set in the Midlands in the 80s this film tells the story of a 12 year old boy who gets involved with a gang of punk/new wave teenagers before becoming embroiled with BNP skin heads.

As I said, Meadows writes about what he knows and this comes across in all his films. They all are uncomfortably realistic, none so more than this.

I would like to mention perhaps the ONLY good movie to come out of Bollywood

Sholay http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sholay http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073707/ - Get a version with subtitles if you can. Even without subtitles, I have known people not understanding the language sit through all 3 hours+. I speak the language and I throughly despise all the stuff that Bollywood offers (in much the same vein as this thread is to do with good movies that are not mainstream). This movie however, unusually for Bollywood, seems to manage a thoroughly universal appeal.

As I have picked up a movie nobody has mentioned before, I would also like to add my vote to a couple of others listed by others posting here.
Koyaanisqatsi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koyaanisqatsi http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085809/ - One of the most visually stunning experiences I have been fortunate enough to have had. Beauty personified.

Ichi The Killer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichi_the_Killer http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0296042/ - I am certainly no fan of extreme Japanese cinema, but this was just excellent to watch.

And I know it has been debated as to whether or not it belongs here or not due to the popularity, but I would beg the indulgence of my friends on the Ubuntu forum for The Shawshank Rdemption. Not because it is a great film, but I believe it belongs here because popular or not, I have yet to see a movie that encompasses the indomitable human spirit in quite the same way.

Lastly, not because it is popular, or cult but simply because it is an excellent tale of morality beneath some exceptionally strong cinematography. I do not recall seeing it mentioned thus far.
The Exorcist - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Exorcist_(film) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070047/

Thanks

Oldboy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364569/:
A really amazing film, though at times also extremely violent. Follows a man who tries to find out why he was kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years in a tiny room. The acting is good, they behave like how you might imagine people would act, and the story is good with a few twists. Also got a really amazing fighting scene that last for several minutes without any clipping.

Reservoir Dogs http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105236/[/ur]:
A film by Quentin Tarantino. For being a film mostly about violence it got extremely small amounts of actual violence in it.

A Scanner Darkly [url]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405296/:
very cool visual style. Also good story, but might have to watch it twice to understand it.

Den Brysomme Mannen (English: The Bothersome Man) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0808185/:
A Norwegian film about a man who suddenly finds himself in a "perfect" society. Normally not a fan of Norwegian films, but this one was very interesting.

Ben X is a 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_in_film) Belgian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian) film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film) about an autistic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autistic) boy (played by Greg Timmermans (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Greg_Timmermans&action=edit&redlink=1)) who retreats into the fantasy world of the MMORPG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMORPG) ArchLord (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ArchLord) to escape bullying. This is my favourite film. The level of detail and the little things you notice after watching it a few times makes you realise how much effort went into making it. The story is very good and Brad Pitt and Ed Norton were awesome together.

Assasination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford

Great direction and use of camera and once again Brad Pitt was awesome even though Casey Affleck stole the show ultimately.

Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring

For me this film set the standard for CGI and storytelling. No other blockbuster has managed to extensively use CGI and still tell a great story. Peter Jackson really brought the World to life (the extended edition of the film even more so). Also had a great ensemble cast.

There are a few others but these are three off the top of my head

I've been meaning to re-watch this movie for a while now. It's classified as a comedy and while it has quite a few funny moments I would say it's more of a drama.

I watched Ghostbusters I, and II on AMC last night, good stuff. Gremlins is another classic. The gremlins is how I found out there was no Santa Clause, when I was 6
