Dell is cutting around 7000 jobs from its global workforce due to low profit and spiralling costs. Is this going to push Dell to go to the cheaper alternative of putting Linux onto their computers, so they dont have to pay for Vista?

I feel really sorry for all those losing their jobs. :(
On the lighter side, I do think there'll be plenty of systems running on ubuntu
in some months for sure @ Dell. :)

On the other side, I wonder if MS provides free Vista to Dell being its OEM partner !!

Recently, there were some articles regarding Dell's "Windows Tax" - 50 USD or something like that. Don't know what version of Windows.
