Install Fest - Available Hardware

If you're helping with the install fest, please take a quick tally of hardware you'd be willing to contribute for the operation. Post only available stuff. I will not be bringing in my main computer, so it is not included. Only stuff you'd be willing to bring in for the fest.

This is what I'd be willing to bring:

1 2 port KVM with cables
1 4 port KVM with cables
3 wireless routers which can be used as switches
1 mass storage device (320-500GB)
x number of Ubuntu CDs. I just need a realistic number.
Powered speakers
I don't have it yet, but I'm going to buy a USB Wifi Adapter or 10/100 adapter. I just can't find one that works out of the box. Any suggestions?
1000 feet of network cable with crimpers and connectors.

I can also bring three 2.4GHZ computers with gigabit if needed and or 4 Laptops as well as other things I haven't thought of bringing.

Lets just find a purpose for this stuff.

Looks great John, those KVMs will really come in handy. I don't think you'll be needing the laptops though. You have some real small laptops that could be easily stolen, and they wouldn't make very good servers :P

Do you have any gigabit network hardware? And how do you plan on mass producing the Ubuntu CDs? (Chuck... you ordered some from Canonical? How many?)

Its less than 1000ft by now, but still quite a bit. I bought a spool to run my home network.

I have an 8 port gigabit switch and lots of other equipment that I don't want to disconnect cause it's either a pain or will not be of value. I also feel gigabit will be overkill for our needs since this will likely be a mixed network and we probably won't enable jumbo frames on all devices.

I have a disk duplicator. It can create ubuntu disks all day long. It only holds 25 disks at a time, but as long as I fill the hopper everytime I walk by it'll keep burning. It can also burn a mix of different images without any attendance on my part.

K, I'm gonna make the call to say screw all gigabit. I just got PXE lan booting for the computers w/o a cdrom drive, and it's not very pretty. Non-gui ONLY over network and it still wants to download packages from the internet. Hopefully we can redirect it to one of our apt-proxys, but it still won't be ideal.

CD-rom installation will be the way to go.

That disk duplicator sounds awesome, hopefully we can all pitch in to re-imburse you for the expenses. How big is it? Could we bring it to the fest so we don't burn too many extra?

However, I will have to bring a windows laptop to drive it. Setting up all the software is a pain, but I have it already on a laptop.

I'm not worried about the cost of CD's. I'll take donations of CDRs, but no money. I'll gladly supply all disks if no one wants to donate. (I do expect to not need more than 100.) If we burn too many, maybe we can set the extras out at the library for anyone to take.

EDIT:

I'm willing to print 50-100 Color CDr labels with laser if someone is willing to donate the label paper (must be for color lasers).
