My sister saw me running Ubuntu yesterday, on a hexagon (beryl), and with about 5 applications open and she pretty much said, "how come you're running so many programs and its not even slowing down?" I chuckled and responded, "only in Linux, only in Linux can you do this."

My Specs:

HP Pavilion 774e (5+ yrs. old)
Ubuntu 7.04
2.0GHZ AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+
512 MB RAM
64MB NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420

LOL, ya :p.

I must say, I was shocked how well Beryl ran on my old regular P4 after all these years when I first ran it. If you tried Vista, you'd probably get choppy animations at best with that setup. Vista would definitely give ya trouble with that old Nvidia card.

Tell her to never look back, and show it off to her Vista friends to make them jealous :D.

All that with 512MB of RAM? That's sweet. Your processor is not that impressive either.
