it's a bit much, isn't it?

my old one which is now running fiesty has

an AMD cpu with 2 gigahertz
a 32 megabyte intergrated nvidia gpu
480 megabytes of ram
and a DVD-R/CD-RW drive

It's a sony viao, and it runs fine:)

you could increase the drive space though, maybe to 160GB or 320GB

800MHz Celeron, 320MB RAM, i815. Xubuntu runs fine on it. Seriously, ^^^ is overkill.

At least double the memory and run an Intel Core 2 Duo if you can. Other than that it looks great.

That first setup you posted is almost exactly the same as the one i am currently using with Feisty. It works perfectly (if a bit laggy sometimes) even when using Beryl and Wine. I can even run Counter Strike : SOurce through wine with a pile of bots without too much lagging. Though if you can definately try and get 1gb RAM.
