View Full Version : If I plan to be a Computer Science major in college must I be good @ Programmer?

Well, the question says it all. In order to be a CS major does one need to be a proficient programmer in languages such as C/C++. I (sophomore in high school) would like to know. thanks

Well, you don't have to be a good programmer from the get go, but you'll have to become one if you want to graduate. You'll probably start programing in Java, not C/C++ because those languages are a wee bit more complicated and are usually left for a Operating Systems course or Data Structures course. This, of course, doesn't mean you can't grab a book or online tutorial and start learning those languages.

Out of everything you learn in school math wil be THE most important and useful subject you can learn...most people deop this subject because they are not good at maths!
