Microsoft has dropped one of its suppliers in the UK because it failed to meet the software giant's standards on employee diversity.

The UK arm of Microsoft is one of a small but growing number of British companies to monitor suppliers to ensure they employ a representative mix of women and ethnic minorities. It declined to name the company concerned.

What? I would not even care who my suppliers were.

You might not care, but Microsoft wants to avoid negative press. If you ask me, I'd say MS is just being over-PC, but without all of the facts and figures it's difficult to say whether they actually have real reason to suspect discrimination based on sex / ethnicity. The UK is well renowned for lunacy in this area - this kind of thing is not all that uncommon.

I don't really blame them.. truth be told.. Microsoft is a huge company, they can't really afford to be attached to a company that is a law-suit waiting to happen, it's bad press.

LOL, MS loves bad press. They live on it, they seem to go out of their way to antagonize their customers (WGA deactivating millions of legitimate copies of XP is a prime example and it hasn't made a single dent in piracy, and its certainly NOT an advantage). Not to mention their love to spread FUD, like most other large entities, which in turn has garnered them hordes of bad press also. Honestly, I think their so large they mostly don't care anymore, people will buy windows cuz its their, its a fact >.>.
