I have recently got an Intel iMac...I LOVE IT. It's fast and things just work. (Unlike Windows).

I know apps are stored under the Applications folder. And to remove apps you just del it from the Application foldier unless it has an uninstall.

Here is my question...Where are settings and registration info for programs stored? For example when I remove Adium (chat app) and reinstall it...the new verison of Adium pulls up my AIM account info.

I know under windows it would be in the registry and I would have to remove Adium items to fully get rid of it.

Thanks
Hi-Teck

edit: sorry, I didn't realise there was a specific OS X forum here!

I can't guarantee I have this exactly right, but it should be somewhere like /Users/(your name)/.Adium

I'm sure someone can correct me!

Your program settings are usually in your ~/Library.

Preferences are in ~/Library/Preferences.

Adium, specifically, stores your information in your keychain (if you opted) and in ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0.

Just search for Adium in Spotlight... :)
