The patents: Developers do not want GPLv3

So I was reading this "Microsoft-funded" research article and wanted to conduct a little census of my own.

Should GPLv3 enforce the patent and prevent deals like the Microsoft, Novell, Dell triangle?

I want GPLv3 and hope it stops patent deals... It's only fair theoretically under GPLv2 the creator of a piece of software would have to pay royalties to use his own software... while others could just use it happily BS.
