i have got a 450 mhz p-3 128 mb ram, 40gb hdd..... and a INTEL MOTHERBOARD..... i wanted to know will ubuntu detect my hardware as i have no drivers with me?????????????????????????????????????????????mai n thing is that my motherboard is kninda different from others........... even engineers dont know how to operate it ??//it was a rare elite kind of a motherboard in its days??????? will ubuntu detect it?????????????

Why not try the live CD? It won't change anything on your machine and you will see if your board gets detected. Be warned though: running Ubuntu off a CD is a slow and your thing is not a rocket, but at least you would see if there are any problems.
