First off, you're not going to get many responses by coming out calling wine "gay". Maybe we can help you further if you tell us exactly what you're trying to accomplish.

I dont think it helps to refer to anything as "gay"..... A bit of maturity is always appreciated in these forums.

Dude,
open the terminal and type in "wine" before the application you wanna open and make sure it's an .exe file. You do know what a .exe file is right? Or you can right click on the file and say "Open With" wine. Did you install wine yet? Not everything works with wine. If you don't like wine you sould go buy a program like switch over or something. But other than that, search the board.

Comments like this usually go in "The Backyard" of the ubuntu forums. But I will say Ubuntu is a great OS.

My suggestion if you need help understand wine. I would suggest: http://www.winehq.org/site/howto

If you need help with a specific problem. Please describe the problem, and we would be more than happy to help you.

I downloaded the Ventrilo setup file for Windows and opened it in Wine and installed it but the launch file is named "ventrilo.ink" when I try to open it , it says "Could'nt display '/home/theillbehaviord/desktop/ventrilo.ink/'" I right clicked it and tryed to open with wine but could not find it under other programs. I also have a Starcraft Broodwar CD and cant isntall that with Wine either. What should I do?

I think for such a task VMWare would be the program to suit your needs. running all that inside a virtual machine IMHO would be best.I think there would be to many .dll files that would need to be copied.

are you sure you don't mean .Lnk? that would mean it's a shortcut.

Find the exe it refers to.

Open your Home folder, and click "View", "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Then look for ".wine" in there you'll see your virtual C: drive, and in there your Program Files folder. Your program files will, obviously, be in there.
