Gaim question

I'm a n00b to Gaim, and I'm wondering, why does it list my buddies as offline even when I know they are online? :confused:

Yeah, I can chat to them or send them files etc, and my status is Online.

Are they using an invisible feature? On some clients it's possible to be online without alerting other people about your status. This allows them to see others who are online, without the others being able to see them.

im a N00b like you to GAIM and I cant sort why the IRC nickserv wont accept my password from the GAIM passord settings. I also cant log on to ICQ through gaim but can through Kopete....is GAIM a bit dodgy? Someone try my ICQ for me, just set it up. Thanks.

I also have no idea how to set up ICQ on Gaim, where do i enter my icq number ?

I think you enter all login based info in the "Screen name" field.

Local alias is the "nickname" area or what you want to be displayed as to your friends.
