I just found a great article on the economy of open source software.
So if any of you guys ever wondered how OSS works, what the economic model behind it is, what the consequences of the OSS development model might be, look no further.
The article also features a great discussion on the enemies of OSS and how they try to fight it with ever increasing IP laws. Makes you realize, why exactly fighting against software patents is important.
