I thought that was interesting, 2 news and the BBC puts the ubuntu logo up in first place twice in as many weeks. what is going on there they used to be so pessimistic about FLOSS.

Yeah, strange, BBC has always been slightly anti-OSS in its reporting, till now!
Didnt realise theyd already made a working prototype! Thats awesome news.

Great exposure for Ubuntu. Let's hope that there are more newsworthy items to keep Ubuntu and linux in the news.

Yes I agree, I read very much bbc technology and it seemed to me they changed attitude since Dell got back selling xp (about 2 weeks ago if I am right)

UK citizens should visit the ePetition site of No.10. Here are 2 I would recommend we vote for:

Encourage greater use of Open Source and locally-developed software in government departments
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/softwareuse/

Ban the teaching of proprietary software, such as Microsoft Word, in schools.

I just saw this article on BBC and was about to post it myself. Obviously, I was beaten to it.

Ubuntu as well as the FLOSS movement is certainly gaining momentum right now and it only seems to be the beginning. Being a strong advocate of FLOSS movement myself, these days have been nothing but exciting times for me. I hope the movement will continue to gain momentum and the day ubuntu holds a greater market share than Windows might not be too far away. (I apologize for the extreme optimism at the end, but just take it as my wishful thoughts)
