I'm posting here because I want advice on what to buy.

I'm looking at upgrading my system to AMD X2 5600+ and 2Gig 6400. I need a good Nvidia graphics card (PCI=E) to compliment this, however I cannot afford the 8800 range.

As I'm a full time Linux user and gamer, OpenGL performance is what matters. However, I cannot find any tests or reviews based on OpenGL performance, so I'm a little stuck.

I currently have a 6800 128MB AGP, so I would like the new card to be a lot better than that.

What I have in my mind are either the 79xx series or 86xx series, but I just don't know!

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

From what I've seen, the only decent 8600 cards are the GTS SLi's and for that price, might as well get the 8800gts with the 320mb RAM because it offers twice the performance. The 79xx looks like a good card...
