Writing a gnome applet

I'm not going to unless it's really easy as i can only program Basic (calculators and PIC chips)

I think it would be awesome if there was a gnome panel applet which allowed you to place a window inside it. A whole window.

So you could put a panel on the right, add the aplet, and put gaim in the aplet. Essentially docking it on the screen.

I'm not sure how gaim would know to always open in that aplet though. ?
