After the meeting today, the Tucson folks planned an actual, physical meet in Tucson; so, if you're a Tucsonan, feel free to drop by :)

We'll be at Caffe Diva on Wednesday starting at about 1800-1830 (some will arrive earlier than others):
2965 N Campbell Ave
Tucson, AZ 85719
Google Map to Caffe Diva (http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=cafe+diva&near=Tucson,+AZ&fb=1&cid=32260556,-110943827,84519646001650851&li=lmd&z=14&iwloc=A&om=1)

Hope to see you there!

Anybody in phoenix interested in doing the same thing but in the phoenix area?

DX: If you'd be interested in organizing something like this, I'd recommend adding it to the agenda for our next meeting; the agenda is freely editable on the wiki. That's how we got it done for Tucson; and I wouldn't count on too many Phoenix folks looking into the "Tucson Local Meet" thread. :)

Heh, yeah. Seems to be a common problem; we were doing this on a Wednesday so that ToddB could join us (he's busy after Wednesday, and then leaves to go back home to CA), but in the future we'll probably do weekends.

As for rides, there's bound to be someone who can help you... parental help, well, there are lots of Linux advocacy sites out there... :P

Our meet went well; we had five attendees, and sat around and discussed for a few hours, met each other, had some fun. Here's a picture:

Scarry group. Haha...just kidding. The question is, who took the picture? also, what was discussed?

Yep, us techies are a bit freaky-looking. One of the workers took the picture for us :)

As to what was discussed, we talked a bit about the server and what we thought of that/what we were doing with it (pretty much the same discussion that happens any time the server's brought up); we also talked a bit about getting some of our newer members onto projects, and about br24's scouting of other LoCos; specifically, we were thinking at the next IRC meeting we'd discuss posting something to make people 'official' members, along the lines of "Lives in Arizona some portion of the year, interested in supporting Ubuntu." Nothing that hasn't been brought up at IRC meetings or on the forums, though. We didn't want to decide anything without the rest of the state :)

Looks like you had a good time. I wish I could have been there. I'm a Tucson native and a U of A graduate...the commute for the meeting was a bit too far at the moment.

Keep up the good work, guys! (Bear down!)

Yep... those transatlantic flights are a bit of a bother for a two-hour weeknight meeting :P

Slogger, you looked like it. Hopefully it's at least over for you soon? I still have an AP Monday, a Final Tuesday, two more AP's wednesday, and a couple more finals the next week :(

I may be moving down to Tucson soon. I visited Tucson every year as a kid
and still have family there.

Have any of you tried Casa Molina's on Belvedere just off Speedway?
We have been going there for like 50 years.
