...yes I've dreamt I wanted to fly like an angel

I would like to hear more; do you mean you day dreamt of flying like an angel or have had actual dreams of flying like an angel or both?

do you mean like Angel on the X-men movie,....his wings were awesome. I like the way he saved his father, predictable but poetic.

I believe the act of flying kind of requires air as opposed to water. ;)

I have. Usually I am flying low, round a building, trees or some mix of columns and water.

Usually when I have flying dreams I find myself having to get to a specific thought, or state-of-mind, and when I slip, I begin to descend but when I'm in "the zone" then I am able to fly and control myself.

I am glad, though, that I'm not restricted to Superman style flight (head-first like a bullet) although that does work sometimes. Usually I'm vertical somewhat.

I think it means I'm crazy or something ;) Who knows.

The Wright brothers used science to solve that dream long before I was ever born.. Thus my valuable dream time can be spend more interesting subjects, like what it would feel like to be sucked into a black hole (though Neil deGrasse Tyson explained that rather well and it doesn't sound pleasant).

we are talking about man powered flight, not planes etc. or more exactly, flying without the aid of an aircraft - just like a bird :P
did the wright brothers solve this?...;)

yes, and also falling...

Yeah, the falling dreams... I had a couple of re-appearing ones. When they first started I thought I had been standing in bed and somehow made myself land in bed under the blankets... Oh well, I wasn't entirely awake then.

As to flying: I've checked out Second Life a while back. That caused some flight dreams.

i can fly. it's a lot more work than you'd think (although, fortunately for me, i don't fly a duck, which is even more work). i suppose if i just dreamed about it while lying there sleeping, i might have a better attitude.

Well man powered flight is decidedly not a realistic option, as cool as it would be, we can't just flap our ears and takeoff.. I can live with assisted flight, it's still way cool - who doesn't love defying gravity?

I'd love to take a flight to space once it becomes commercially available (only a true maniac pays 25 million for 11 days crammed in a tinbox with a bunch of sweaty russians - for 25 million, I want to fly in style).

I've had dreams where I could glide by opening my jacket like a pair of wings, or I could jump really far like a kangaroo (kinda like flying), but never a "real" flying dream.
