Okay, you have $5000 to spend on a new shinny Ubuntu system. What would you buy?

Post pictures / specs / configurations :KS

I would buy me a car with most of the money and a nice notebook with 1000$ that could run ubuntu (and any other distro) like a breeze

5000$ on a new computer?! You've got to be kidding me! I wouldn't spend that much, it's not a gaming PC.

EDIT: and to answer the topic, I'd buy a med-high spec laptop(not sure which one that would be, but whatever)

I would probably experiment with a Sun Sparc system and see how they work out. Always wanted a Sun System - running Ubuntu would be a very nice combo.

Well. You have a long way to go then. I tried to configure a maxed out mac pro. Excluding monitors and additional software the computer was still more than $13000.... YIKES!

i'm pretty happy with my laptop, but had i more money to spend, i guess i would have gotten a more potent processor and another gig of memory. other than that, i might use money to get some kind of mac to mess with. i don't know...i guess i'd rather spend the money on beer.

Quad Core processer, 4 gigs of RAM, twin 512mb nvidia graphics cards, terabyte HD... yum

I'd probably just buy an el cheapo pc from Ebay and pocket the difference.
