I'm a phpbb admin, and it's great.

I've acquired an ubuntu box, and I want to play around with some other php/mysql open source apps.

What are some good ones, other than forums, (phpbb) ?

Wikipedia lists a dozen or so content management systems that use PHP/MySQL.

I like PHPMyAdmin. But it's only useful if you have a large number of databases to manage.

If you only have one database installed, it's more work to install phpmyadmin than it is to use it.

Wordpress! It's functional, a cinch to install if you have no PHP/MySQL experience, and once you want to get your hands dirty you can figure out how it works by editing configurations and writing your own plugins.

True. But Blogging is a lot of work. Plus I have nothing interesting to talk about.
