View Full Version : Logo final submissions

This is the thread for logo submissions up for voting on May 6. Please do not discuss icons here; do that in IRC or in other threads. Please keep Ubuntu Trademark Policy (http://www.ubuntu.com/aboutus/trademarkpolicy) in mind, but also, if there is a somewhat non-conforming logo that is well-liked, it may be accepted.
Please provide a visual for your image, as well as an attachment that is the image itself. SVG format images are most desirable for final use, as they are scalable; however, thumbnails should be in another format for posting, and SVG only in attachments. As well, other formats are OK, although they will probably be converted to SVG for 'production' use if finally voted in.
Thank you, good luck, and let the submissions begin.

Sorry about the double post, I made some changes to the logo and I couldn't change the attachments so here they are again.

Now, if only we could get customized license plates like these, would be nice. :)
Or vehicle ad type magnets, or window stickers.
Like the second one you did DX.

I do like this logo. After the discussion about the Full Circle logo yesterday, maybe we should just stick with the Ubuntu logo.

A couple quick notes on this. I believe there is a place in Tucson that does something like that. I was looking to getting a car magnet for my biz, although I haven't gotten to it yet. If everyone agrees, maybe we should look into this.
I also found a thread today about Ubuntu stickers. Here is the URL:

There's a manufacturer that is sending people free Ubuntu stickers in a self-addressed envelope. Something definitely worthy of checking out. I am going to send one to them.

Here is another variation of it based from a suggestion from the IRC chat.
I don't have a complete svg image of that but all I did was borrow the logo from FullCircle magazine and import it into the svg file.

Since Slogger hasn't, I'll bring the whole logo discussion from the other channel over here, in a condensed form. Note that EVERYTHING can be resized.
First, the logos that officially don't conform (according to Vorian's conversations with higher-ups):

Somewhat different idea. (Of the 2, the only difference is font)
Might make good name tags if Ubuntu was replaced with a name.

My opinion of what the best AZ-State Based Graphic is.
I've mentioned before that I think we really need a set of similar graphics for different tasks, and I think this one is the kind of thing that would be good for stickers (particularly those squarish sticker people put on the back windows of their cars) as well as all situations that call for a more visual/square logo and we don't want to throw in big/lots of text. Included are Yellow and Red text versions.

Post 12 looks like a license plate. I just thought I would let you know.

And my preferred banner logo style.
If selected I would fix the slight off-centering problem and maybe enhance the colors slightly.
(Not motivated at the moment... It's a Sunday afternoon. ;))

SVG doesn't include some effects. ( I have an xcf which does.)

Just a simple versions. I've heard that there might be some interest in having something that's pretty simple. Might look nice on business cards.
Please note that colors can be changed. I'm resisting the impulse of posting versions with all conceivable palette rotations.
