I like the convenience of not having to manually check for new mail (like with Outlook and Thunderbird) and having my inbox open in a tab within an already opened window.

So, why is Opera the ONLY browser that offers this? Maybe Opera's M2 is a little basic for some people, but it does the job as far as reading emails goes. So why can't other browser writers do the same thing? I just tried out Konqueror and it downloaded web pages pretty sharpish. If it had an IMC (Integrated Mail Client) I might even favour it over Opera.

A) You could also use Seamonkey.

B) Probably most people prefere separate apps for mail/browsing, so the market just follows.
