as Referred in the following link:

http://enterprise.linux.com/enterprise/07/04/26/1614247.shtml?tid=23

Linux Kernel 2.6.21 was release adding some major improvements and features. my favorite is and i quote:

"The 2.6.21 kernel also includes a dynamic ticks (dynticks) feature. This allows kernels to run in a "tickless" mode that allows Linux to use power-saving features in today's CPUs and thus save power on laptops when the system is idle."

Will the Ubuntu developers gonna push harder to include 2.6.21 kernel and all its features in Gutsy Gibson?

I think it would be great, what do you think?

they do have 6 months, im sure they will be using an updated kernel (as edgy used like 2.6.17 and now feisty uses 2.6.20) so im sure they will not only include that as an update but future versions as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2.6.22 or 2.6.23 by release.

I think Ben Collins said in the Ubuntu Open Week log that 2.6.22 is likely https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs/openweekfeisty/kernel

<Riddell> QUESTION: what version of linux will be used in gusty?

This is good! Used .21 in other distros' RCs, was more stable than .20. I hope .22 proves the same.
I'm stuck with .17 for uby due to processor scaling.
