I am in the market for a laptop which will be running Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn.
Few Questions: System 76 the way to go??

I need the best starter computer for the $$ which will get me going.

Gazelle Series?? > not alot of money right now....gotta start somewhere.

I will be spend up to 800-900 however, any costs I can cut will be sweet!
- lots of traveling....must be light/thin >> very portable....Gazelle or Darter?

- noticed the system 76 come w/ the 40 GB Hd's and I need atleast an 80 if not higher. (have a few external but loss of speed....)

- atleast 1 GB of memory.

- love the white darter series, however the 13.3'' in screen is a turn off...could get used to it tho.

Help Please!

The Pre-Installed Linux Vendor Database

Welcome to the Pre-Installed Linux Vendor Database! You can use this database to find a desktop or notebook with GNU/Linux pre-installed. This is especially handy if you are inexperienced at installing an operating system, or are simply too busy to do it yourself. Technical enthusiasts can even find a computer with no OS at all, allowing them to install whatever they want.

You can browse the whole database (currently with 106 entries) if you want to. Once you see a vendor that seems to fit your needs, click on the Vendor's link to see more details. You will find a link to the vendor's website on the details page.
