I have a CHM ebook that I would like to convert to PDF. gnochm does a good job reading them, but I prefer PDF personally. Anyone know of any feasible way to do this without buying something?

I don't think there is any tool that will automatically convert a whole CHM to PDF. But there are tools like arCHMage that can decompile a CHM. From there you can merge them and print the HTML documents to PDF.

Because chm is proprietary? If that's the case I'd agree, but as far as usability goes, I prefer chm any day. It's much easier to read and reference a book in chm, since it has a hyperlinked index, and each topic of a book is contained in a single [usually long] page, rather than seperate pages for each printable size page.
