Hi,

I was trying to take Ubuntu and Orca for a test drive with a live CD (it not the latest build of Feisty Fawn). Due to some issues with my current laptop, I have all sound going to an Imic2 USB device. Although Orca did appear to be running (according to my sighted friend) no speech was produced (either through the USB device or from the speaker). We tried to find if there were places to instruct Ubuntu and/or Orca to use the USB device, but that did not have any effect.

Does Orca and/or Festival (that's the speech engine, right?) support being routing through a USB device?

I got no response to this on the Ubuntu accessibility list. I'm hoping there will be an answer (even if it turns out to be, "currently there's no support for this").

Thanks.
