I've got a few of their cds and I must say they are probably the best band in the world at the moment. Well at least that's what I reckon.
To anyone who hasn't heard them before I seriously recommend listening to some of their music.

you can listen to their new song here (yeah, unfortunately its on myspace because their website is getting a facelift)

ps: if you are wondering who named powderfinger as the best band i the world, it was me just now.

edit: they play rock and o roll

Pink Floyd, Tool, Portishead = Top 3, in that order.

Why don't you at least tell people what genre it is...

And I don't go to myspace anymore. Prevention of addiction ftw. But maybe I'll look on YouTube later.

In my opinion, there are two groups of bands: the 'blessed ones' and the 'just common guys'.
The best of the blessed ones would be Pink Floyd.
And the best of the just common guys group would be Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Yeah, I know that Pink Floyd has **everything** to do with Chili Peppers.

ugh..powderfinger...too indie for my liking.

Classifying a best band is very much a matter of personal opinion, but a lot of the geek community would be behind Pink Floyd, possibly one of the greatest bands to ever exist, the only others matching their status in rock history are The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

Pink Floyd left a mark on Music history that will never be forgotten. My all time favourite song is 'wish you were here', by them.

Another favourite of mine - They Might be Giants, Birdhouse in Your Soul.
