Title: Ubuntu LoCo PA Team Meeting
Date: 4/28/2007
Time: 11am - 3pm
Location: NTR warehouse, 1524 Brandywine Street, Philadelphia PA 19130
URL: http://ntronline.org

This is our first team meeting! All are welcome. For those of that haven't been to NTR, you'll get a tour around the facility. Stan Pokras, the executive director, has been gracious enough to let use NTR's space for our meetings. The primary topic will be how we can use this great building for our Ubuntu install fests.

Please use the poll if you plan to attend.

I'll attend if I'm in town; I travel a lot for work. What will be discussed here?

I'm busy planning a wedding for the next few months, so the occasional post on this forum is about all you'll get out of me. Hopefully I'll be more active later this summer or in the early fall in time for any Gutsy related projects.

I had to vote that I wasn't going to attend... 3 hours is a bit to travel for one meeting. Back closer to that area in mid-May.

I will be in Chicago at the time. Otherwise, I would hit a later date.

Ok, so far it looks like there will be 4 of us. I know another two that are not in the forum that may show. I will bring a thorough list of topics for us to cover. I'll post it here as an OpenOffice odt file.

Hi everyone,

For those attending this Saturday's team meeting, here is document (http://mysite.verizon.net/~k.valentine/PA-LoCo-NTR-Install-Fest-Meeting.odt) that lists all our topics to discuss. Hopefully we can get through them all.

The meeting was great! I'm just getting back from running around all day. When I get a chance tonight or tomorrow, I'll come up with some detailed meeting minutes.

I'm really impressed with how much we got done in such a small period of time. I'm looking forward to future team meetings. Oh yeah, I better throw this out now: We have set a date of June 2nd to be our first Ubuntu Install Fest. This date was chosen because it was two weeks after Joe Terranova's Ubuntu LoCo talk at PACS. It also gives us over a month to prepare.

Thanks to jedijf and Iamalex for showing up. An old friend from other projects, Ben, also made an appearance. Stan and one of his coworkers sat in on the meeting too. For about 3 hours straight we covered every topic in the list I sent out. I had intended to take a lot more pictures ... I only took two. I'll get more next time :-)

This is the room we'll get for the first install fest.

There are other rooms down the hall. If more people come than expected, we can use them too. I believe this room is good for approximately 15-20 people. We'll have a better idea when we clean it up some.

These were the attendees of the first meeting. From left to right, Alex, Jim, the NTR guy (forgot his name, sorry). Stan and Ben stepped out.

Meeting minutes are coming soon!

Here is the meeting minutes document (http://mysite.verizon.net/~k.valentine/LoCo-PA-Meeting-Notes-20070428.odt) I promised earlier. Anyone know of a better way to post to documents here? Mine don't fit in the 19.5kB limit. Perhaps this should be going into the wiki or on meetlinux.com?

This should give us some good stuff to discuss at Wednesday's meeting. BTW, don't grill me on the doc's grammar and spelling. I didn't check any of that before I posted it here.

I would definitely stick this into the wiki.

It is in the wiki at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PennsylvaniaTeam/Philly/MeetingMinutes

I will tie it in to the Main page somehow.

Thanks guys. I will read it closer in the morning (I'm not focusing well right now and need to get to sleep)

Looks like the formatting was butchered in the wiki. I'll see what I can do to clean it up. For now, look at the odt.

Anyone know of any good conversion tools for odf to wiki syntax? I know ... I should have used the wiki in the first place.

I cleaned it up a bit... Didn't have a lot of time, so it could use some more touching up. But it does look better.

OK, i'm a freak. I couldn't let all our work be displayed with such fractured formatting. i went through the whole thing and cleaned up the wiki syntax. guess what? now i know wiki syntax \\:D/
