Whether you're downloading via a torrent or via http/ftp, how fast is it transferring at?

Current torrent throughput (for all torrents at http://torrent.ubuntu.com:6969/) is 5 gigabits per second!

Congratulations :)

This doesn't include http/ftp mirrors or course!

I'm missing an option. 0Kbps!!

I'm actually not downloading. I thought it would be nice to save the available network bandwith for people who really needed it NOW.

And since I'm already running FF from Béta on, there wont be much need for downloading the CD-image now.

I hate anyone who's getting more than 5 MBps.

i was downloading from a HTTP mirror at about 10KB/s, but now i'm downloading from the torrent at linuxtracker.org at about 60KB/s and it's still speeding up

EDIT: i'm currently downloading at my maximum download speed (340KB/s or 3mbps)

Thought I'd do the decent thing & grab it via a torrent this time round (usually I ftp or http).

I started about half an our ago and am:

downloading Ubuntu Desktop 386 @ 10kB/s uploading @ 23kB/s

downloading Ubuntu server 386 @ 68kB/s uploading @ 21kB/s

I renamed the RC, so I'm not downloading at all since the files are identical, it was finished and I'm just uploading. Uploading at about 2000 KB, even though my connection should be 10 Mbit (1280 KB), but I'm not complaining :)

when I downloaded feisty this morning I was amazed... had to be one of the fastest downloads I have ever done on my laptop. I was flying at 780kps it only took 15min :)

I was using http to download.

I wonder why some people have had fast torrent downloads and others like me, slow downloads. It seems to have stabilized for me at around 120 KB/s. That's no where near what I usually get with bit torrent.
Edit: It seems to have jumped up to around 220 KB/s. But that's still slow for bit torrent.

...15 kB/s on a broadband connection. I might as well get out and walk.

When, oh when will all the traffic die down?

@~26 kBps you can't ask much more from a 256kbps connection. Using torrent btw.

It hasn't even been released for a day! The servers will get a high load of traffic, you can't expect to download off them at full time for around a week or two on release.

I just got home and saw some updates and it won't even connect to the server. I usually get between 130-150 kbs. I've been running Feisty for three weeks now. I'm glad I got it early:)

Actually, I have already downloaded Feisty (that didn't go too badly): getting the software out of the bottlenecked repositories (i.e. upgrading) is what I am presently having problems with.

I'll tell you as soon as the download page finishes loading. Bad flash backs from the early internet days lol.

I WAS downloading it via bittorent. But after getting about 10 Kbs on a bad moment, and 115 Kbs on a good one, I got tired of the thing.

I am now downloading it from http://us.releases.ubuntu.com/feisty/ubuntu-7.04-desktop-i386.iso and getting a wonderful 300 Kbs.
