I just got a laptop and was looking to get some type of GPS software to use with it. I was looking into DeLorme's Street Atlas 2007, for windows, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any software to use with Linux that can do the same as Street Atlas.

Have you even looked at the search results? They are really really unhelpful.

This looks a little like what you want, I'm not sure if it offers any sort of route planning though.

No I did not, I was hoping he would, and maybe there would be something of use in there for him.
