I did a little bit of development for beryl.
I wrote a mod for the Burn animation effect called "Mystical Fire." Thanks to someone on the forum it got included into beryl as an option. It was a really simple tweak: randomzie the rgb values of the fire particles.

I also tried to write the code to make the cube transparent using a few opengl calls that would enable transparency. But, as you can see, it didn't quite work. You cannot see the back two desktops. Thankfully somebody else figured out it shortly afterwards.

I've started my own personal crusade against the danish public service system, trying to figure out how to make them not use all my tax-money on software licenses. While I think about that, I nag my friends and family about the joys of GNU-stuff :)

(I'd love to code and translate and other technical stuff, but my english sucks and I haven't got any further then "Hello world" in my programming career. Hell, I can't even compile a program :))

I hope to contribute codewise sometime. Atm, I'm not that much into any linux specific code (or openGL for that matter) and I do not have the time to really work on something for the next few months, but it has my interest.

I've contributed a couple of bucks by buying two SuSE Linux boxes. :D

I started my own crusade against my school (they bought everything Microsoft, I'm asked to do some things for the new student introduction days, but that has to be done in ASP since they don't have PHP support ;-))

I got wireless working at my school, only MS is supported but now everybody knows how to get it working in linux.

And last but not least, all of my development work is in linux (OpenGL and stuff, trying to learn that now (with a ATi X200m videocard :P))

the people from my class are a bit scared of by my enthousiasm, but some people now see that linux has lots of advantages

and i've contributed by talking about linux all the time with my friends. and by doing so i've sacrificed something pretty big, as uncyclopedia puts it: the more you know and talk about linux, the less likely chances are girls will talk to you. :p

I've hacked together a simple GUI to let the user change the default choice and timeout value for the grub menu, and am happy to answer questions from newbie (more than me) linux users. I'm also doing all my programming on linux, so compatibility is assured.

One of these days, I'm actually going to get a grasp of C/C++ and/or perl and write something usefull to someone besides myself :x At the moment, I want to learn enough perl to write an IRC bot that doesn't even need irssi, but I'm nowhere near knowledgable enough in the language to pull that off yet ><

I am the author of gdivelog - see sig - from which I have a had a few emails from users like:

Which was/is rather satisfying to say the least.

I have also written a few patches for other software, e.g. some conversion stuff for gtkpod, logged a few bugs and answered peoples questions on forums.

I truly hope that someday I am knowledgable enough to contribute to a project. Isn't it the same with many of us here? :D In addition, being a student, I hope to make a good application for a Google Summer of Code project in the next couple of years.

not very much...I talk with my friends about linux, ubuntu, open source movement etc, I distributed as many ubuntu live cds I could to all the people I know and who were willing to try it, I've converted my girlfriend to use linux (even in dual booting as she needs stuff like corel and so on)....But I'll try to do as much as I can (in my spare time...) :)

Lets see now- I helped fix a major bug in the slamd64 development, I have uploaded 2 gdm/gtk themes, and 2 openbox themes, I admin the Ubuntu Document Storage Facility, and have wikied countless pages in there, I help out in IRC for both Zenwalk and Ubuntu, I wrote/modified 3 scripts for Weechat.

Yeah, I'm doing my bit.

Incidentally, we urgently need help with the Ubuntu Document Storage facility in wikifying docs from these forums. Anyone interested please PM me.
