I should say - I know a lot of the technology and drama in 24 is exaggerated... but it's still fun. It's like a soap opera in that way.

99% of what CTU does with computers is either nearly impossible, or at least nearly impossible to implement in their incredibly short timeframes.
Likewise - I used to be a professional pilot, so I saw massive technical errors when Jack took control of the unmanned drone aircraft.

But that's why it's fiction... it's still lot of fun to watch.

I never doubted their technology. I always thought they would have tech equivilent to that of the NSA and CIA. I don't see how what they do is impossible.

I think a lot of the stuff they do could be possible but some of it isn't. Like zooming in on a license plate from a satellite to get a crystal clear image of the number. I don't think that's possible.

I am pretty sure that's possible. Although I would think they would use that kind of technology to find Osama.

Having maybe 3 or 4 analysts being capable of providing immediate and accurate information on how to disarm a nuclear bomb, fly a drone aircraft, or track cell phone from space is simply not real life.
I'm sure (and hope) our NSA and CIA are very capable, but the people working there are still human. They need some time to work, and many teams for each knowledge area.

also, in 24 they use linux
in day 3 - when jack goes to the prison with chase to visit ramone - he logs in with his hand print and you can clearly see that its the kde desktop environment - kinda cool - lol

yes, ive been after an OS like they use in ctu - got my ubuntu looking kinda cool - really slick and minimal - i do a lot of stuff through terminal - it makes me feel cool - lol

I've seen every episode of every season except Monday night's. I still have to watch it on their myspace On Demand. I think this season is the worst, but it's still pretty good. I think Kieffer signed on for another 3 seasons, so you know he won't die.

I actually heard someone from the CIA said they watch 24 just to get ideas.
