Are there any tax programs that are similiar to Tax Cut or Turbo Tax for Ubuntu?

no. financial apps in general are quite lacking.

You can use online versions of tax software. Tax Act has a good online tax preparation service, and you can go through the whole process and decide if you want to pay at the end.

TurboTax online works with Firefox and Ubuntu, we have lots of products @ http://turbotax.intuit.com/. You start for Free and only pay when you are done.

I was wondering how Turbo Tax works under WINE, has anyone reported using it that way?

It's rated as garbage on wines website. Under the heading "What Works?", the answer is nothing.
