I know this may sound strange, but I don't know the WEP key for my wireless network, which was settled by my brother. Under Windows I have internet and I can even see that the WEP is of 8 characters. Under FF I have to specify it. But how? Can I set a new WEP key for my wireless network under Windows? Is there
a way to do so?

In mine (I'm in linksys) I have to open my browser and go to a funny url (mine is 192.168.1.1) and then I have to type in a password.

You may be able t o figure out what the URL is, but I doubt if you're going to know what the password is if you don't know your WEP password (it's two different passwords). I think you're more going to need to know how to reset your router.

What kinda router you have, sweetie?

And why are you still using Windows? ;)

I have a dlink DI-524.
I use Windows, because I have to - Word, Excel, certain applications exist only there!

wep cracking (http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=wep+cracking&btnG=Google+zoeken&meta=) ;)

Seriously, if you don't know you WEP key and you don't know your router's password, a reset is the only option. However, some Windows wireless software allows you to see your WEP key. Forget it if you are using the built-in wireless software.

I know my router's password. But I don't know its address.

A D-Link router's address would be http://192.168.0.1
Standard login is 'admin' - no password

EDIT: Nevermind, if you know the router's pass, you're good as golden. Have fun!

Click 'Wireless'. There you will see your info

EDIT: I'm thinking DI-624 - that might not be correct.

futz (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=45386), daynah (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=55947) - thank you very much! It worked! Actually I had known the password, but never tried with 64bit HEX WEP key.
Thank you!
