welcome to the 'digg' effect people, and get used to it as it ain't going away. Digg/slashdot/reddit are now listed as far more effective than a ddos attack. The only way to protect against it is to mirror your sites several times, and triple the bandwidth.

Digg HAS taken down Yahoo before now, it's effect is massive. We front-paged shipit yesterday, and it's still down.

Sorry, but I happen to think this is cool and absolute proof that you can effect the net in a totally legal way.

There's a good reason for running a page with nothing but text. I wonder, has google gone through the digg effect yet?

Google gets dugg all the time. It can handle it though, with god-knows how many servers and bandwidth running in huge clusters.
