View Full Version : Palm working on its own Linux-based OS

I guess they're going to offer up code for Linux compatibility for inclusion in the Linux OS as well. Looks kind of dubious, palm doesn't seem like the type of company who would offer open source drivers...and they have to be open source to run in kernel-space right?

if they contribute to the kernel, then they're bound by the GPL. IF their contributions are accepted into the main kernel tree, everyone benefits. If not, their versions will still be GPL'd.

Free Software wins.

Well, I certainly hope they go the open source route on this. It would much improve its image with Linux users if there were some open specs for developers to work with.
